The art book is structured thematically, with sections devoted to the myth of the artist, the symbolism of the mirror, masks and vanity, invisible identities, narrative self-fashioning, and the transformation of the self through performance and allegory. It examines the artist not only as creator, but also as subject, myth, and mirror of society.
