Bringing together more than 150 exceptional works of art—from paintings and textiles to glassware and arms—the catalog explores the vibrant cultural exchange between Venice and the Ottoman Empire over three centuries. Featured objects come from seven Venetian civic museums, U.S. collections, and even the recently excavated wreck of the Gagliana Grossa, a 16th-century Venetian merchant ship sunk while en route to the Ottoman court.

Scholarly essays examine topics ranging from diplomacy and trade to shared aesthetics and material influence, offering a fresh perspective on Mediterranean history through the lens of art.

Limited print run. A collector’s item for lovers of Venetian and Islamic art alike.
