The catalog brings together twenty-four autograph works by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, including rarely seen paintings and recent discoveries. Highlights include the Portrait of Maffeo Barberini, exhibited publicly for the first time in over sixty years, and Ecce Homo, on loan from the Museo Nacional del Prado.

Curated by Francesca Cappelletti, Maria Cristina Terzaghi, and Thomas Clement Salomon, the exhibition was organized by the Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica in collaboration with Galleria Borghese and supported by Italy’s Ministry of Culture and Intesa Sanpaolo.
