Guido Reni

This richly illustrated catalog accompanies the first exhibition in Spain dedicated to Guido Reni, held at the Museo del Prado. Featuring nearly eighty paintings and drawings by Reni, along with more than twenty complementary works by other artists, the exhibition offers a full reconstruction of the artist’s creative personality and underscores the continued relevance of his legacy in the history of European art.

The publication brings together nine scholarly essays by international authors, offering in-depth explorations of Reni’s technique, his stylistic development, and the artistic and cultural environment in which he thrived – particularly in Bologna and Rome. Special focus is given to Reni’s connections with Spain during its Golden Age.
